This Cruise Ship Has 7 Included Restaurants – I Tried Them All (Marella Voyager)

Note: This post is sponsored by Marella Cruises. All thoughts and opinions are my own based on my 8+ Cruises with Marella. My cruises with Marella were not press trips and I paid full price for them.

I recently took a cruise on Marella Voyager, where we had seven included restaurants to choose from. That is far more than most other cruise lines.

Whether you prefer casual meals, sit-down dining or snacking, there’s something to suit everyone.

Here’s a look at each of the included options on board so you can find out what to expect from the different menus.

#1. Latitude 53 – The Main Dining Room

Latitude 53 is the main dining room on board.

It is a large, elegant, sit-down restaurant with waiter service.

This restaurant offers a new menu every night and serves a mix of international dishes.

Latitude 53 is on the bottom level. Vista (Italian) and Piccadilly’s (British) are on the upper level.

It is open for breakfast and dinner and sometimes lunch. (Sometimes on port days, it wasn’t open at lunchtime, so check the app or daily schedule to make sure before you head there.)

Many cruise lines never open the main dining room at lunchtime, so it is always a pleasant surprise for me to find it open during the day.

The service was quick, friendly and efficient, we never had to wait too long for anything. The waiters had mastered a perfect balance – always on hand should you need anything, but not over attentive, which I can find quite uncomfortable.

#2 Vista – Italian Dining

Vista is on the upper level of the ship’s main dining room. It serves pasta, pizza, and other classic Italian dishes.

Vista is seen on the top left-hand side of the photo below.

It is another sit-down restaurant with waiter service.

There were a couple of extra charge items on the menu – like Pappardelle Carbonara. I watched with interest when a neighbouring table chose this. It was served table-side from what looked like a huge Parmesan cheese!

#3 The Kitchens – The Food Hall

I was so impressed by the food hall on Marella Voyager!

Called “The Kitchens”, it offers a casual dining setting with a wide selection of hot and cold dishes.

It is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and late-night snacks.

A wide range of food is available – everything from cooked English classics to international cuisine at the eight different eateries.

The Kitchens is a food hall made up of eight different eateries. Some of the highlights include traditional roast dinners at Gravy Boat, Asian curries at Banyan Leaf, and Greek-style pittas at Athenas. There’s a casual dress code here.

All food in the food hall was served to us by the crew; there was no self-service, which I like.

There were hand sanitising machines at all the entrances, and I was very pleased to see that the guests were using them. I have been on other cruise lines recently where this wasn’t the case…

Lunchtime sandwich selection – they even had sausage rolls!

I often popped in for a quick lunchtime sandwich or wrap. I was delighted to see sausage rolls available too; you won’t find them on an American cruise line.

Every day there is a different roast dinner available. I have to say, this was the best roast dinner I have ever had in a cruise ship buffet/food court!

Because Marella is an All – Inclusive cruise line, there are taps where you could help yourself to soft drinks, wine or beer with your meal.

What impressed me most about “The Kitchens” was the amount of space.

We have all been on cruises where the buffet is packed, and everyone is trying to get back to their tables through the narrow gap between the food stations and the drinks stations.

Often, there seems to be a bottleneck area in cruise ship buffets. You have a plate in one hand, a drink in the other, and you are trying not to drop everything and cause chaos! No such problems on this ship though…

There was SO much space in the Kitchens (food hall), I never saw it too crowded.

Look at all this space! We sailed in peak season, and the food hall easily accommodated all the passengers who wanted to use it.

Lovely views from “The Kitchens” on Marella Voyager.

We were never unable to get a seat, and there is also an outdoor seating area at the back of the ship, if you would prefer to sit outside and enjoy the views.

Every day they served multiple flavours of Ice creams and sorbets. From Peanut to Pistachio, Rum and Raisin to Strawberry – it was like being in an expensive ice cream shop – but you didn’t have to pay!

Some cruise lines only serve soft whipped vanilla or chocolate ice cream. On others, all ice cream comes at an extra charge.

This was great for the families with children onboard, and this ice cream station always seemed very popular.

#4 Snack Shack – Quick and Easy Bites

Snack Shack is a great venue by the pool on deck 11.

It offers many quick and easy dishes, including burgers, hot dogs, wraps and sandwiches.

Snack Shack is on the pool deck.

If you don’t want to leave the sun deck, it is a fabulous place to go for a quick snack or casual meal.

Snack Shack’s dress code is beachwear/swimwear, so anything goes. You must wear shoes for health and safety reasons, but this is the only dress code.

Lots of food options available, from burgers to macaroni cheese, along with sides like fried onions or mushrooms.

It is very convenient because it is close to the outdoor pool. You can wear swimwear, shorts, t-shirts, sundresses, or other casual outfits, so no need to worry about going back to your cabin to get changed before eating.

There is also a fridge where you can grab a ready-made salad, wrap or some fruit if you don’t want hot food.

#5. Piccadilly’s – Classic British Comfort Food

You can find Piccadilly’s on the upper floor of the main restaurant. There is no need to book in advance.

It serves a great range of British classic dishes – burgers, fish and chips, pies, roast dinners, etc. It also has a good range of vegetarian and vegan options.

Most of the food on the menu is included in the cruise fare, with a few extra special items, such as Rack of Lamb or Lobster Thermidor, at an additional charge.

As with all of the restaurants onboard, all dishes are clearly labelled for those with dietary requirements.

This is a fabulous restaurant if you want a taste of home cooking whilst you are on holiday.

#6. Nonna’s – Pizza and Pasta

Nonna’s is an included pizza and pasta restaurant that can be found at the back of deck 11, behind The Kitchens.

They serve made-to-order pizza for lunch and dinner, along with salad and calzones.

It was very popular on our sailing, which was during the UK school holidays. Every evening at 6.30pm, when it opened, there was a huge queue of people trying to take their children for pizza.

It was less busy later in the evening, but understandably, families with children often like to eat earlier.

To solve this problem, the crew gave out buzzers so they could call people back when space became available in the restaurant. That saved them from having to wait around.

We avoided the queues at Nonna’s by visiting at lunchtime. We had the place to ourselves!

The food in Nonna’s was made to order and always hot, fresh and tasty.

There’s a casual dress code in Nonna’s, so pretty much anything goes.

#7. Abuela’s – Mexican

Abuela’s was my favourite restaurant onboard, serving Mexican-themed lunches and dinners.

This is the sort of restaurant you might expect to pay extra for on other cruise lines.

Some items on the menu do come at an extra cost, but I found that there were plenty of things on the menu that I wanted to try that were included, so I never spent extra.

We liked Abuela’s so much, we made sure we went back a second time. We wanted to try more of the items on the menu. Everything we tried was really good…

It is open for lunch and dinner every day, and has a casual dress code.

You will find it at the back of the ship on deck 11, behind the food hall.
