If you are taking a cruise with Azamara, you might be wondering which drinks are included in the price of the cruise.
Azamara offers a range of drinks as standard, but that range is quite limited.
(They also include gratuities in the cruise fare, so it is possible to get off the ship after your cruise without a large onboard account to settle.)

I have put this guide together for others who might be wondering what is included and whether they might want to think about upgrading the package.
A “Premium Package” or “Ultimate Package” if your drink of choice isn’t available as standard.
Upgrading the drinks package certainly wouldn’t be worth it for me. Cans of soda, mocktails and wine are included in the basic package, and I don’t drink spirits.

Standard Drinks Package
A selection of hot drinks, soft drinks, cocktails, mocktails, beers, and wines are included as standard.
This includes a lot of the teas and coffees at the Mosaic Cafe. (Many cruise lines charge extra for coffee and snacks in coffee bars and cafes.)

- Two House Whites
- Two House Reds
Included Beers and Cider
- Coors Light – bottles

These are the default drinks you can order in most bars.

Soda comes in cans. You aren’t served the cheaper, draft soda served on some other cruise lines.
Soft drinks:
- Sprite
- Coca-Cola or Coke Zero
- Tonic Water
- Ginger ale
Included Mocktails
- Berry Banana Colada

Premium and Ultimate Packages
If you have a particular favourite drink that isn’t included in the basic standard package, you can upgrade.
At the time of writing (March 2026), the Premium Package costs $31.95 per day. The Ultimate package costs $39.95 a day. All prices are subject to change.

Wine Packages
If you are a wine lover and want a wider selection of wines than the standard house wine options, you can buy a wine package.
There are two packages available. The Wine Lovers Package and the Connoisseur Package.
You can create your own personalised wine bundle to enjoy during your cruise. Choose from 75 available bottles and range of packages containing from 5 to 12 bottles.

Other Free Inclusions
There is a minibar in your room that the cabin steward will keep stocked with soft drinks and beers of your choice at no extra charge.
On Azamara Journey, they no longer leave bottled water in your cabin.
Instead of bottled water, they leave you insulated refillable bottles in the cabin. This is to save plastic waste – what a great idea!
On each deck near the cabins, there is a water machine where you can fill up your insulated bottles with chilled water.
Hopefully, this will be rolled out across the whole Azamara fleet soon!

Free teas and coffees are available in the buffet, in the restaurants and at the Mosaic Coffee Bar.
Maximum Drinks Per Day?
Many lines have rules about the maximum number of alcoholic drinks you can have per day within your drinks package.
Azamara have no such rules, and simply says:
Packages offer unlimited drinks per person within the parameters of our responsible alcohol service guidelines.

Do All Cabin Occupants Need to Buy A Drinks Package?
The majority of mainstream cruise lines say that if one cabin occupant buys a drinks package, the other occupants must buy the same one ( with the exception of children, of course, who will have a soft drinks package.)
This is to prevent families and friends from sharing a single package. Find out more about that here:
You Can’t Share a Drinks Package on a Cruise – Here’s Why
There is nothing in Azamara’s terms and conditions to say that they also apply this rule.
One cabin occupant might be perfectly happy with the included drinks, whilst the other may wish to upgrade to a Premium Package. This is perfectly acceptable on Azamara.
Do You Need To Upgrade Drinks For The Whole Trip?
No, you can buy a beverage package at any time during your voyage.
Charges begin the day you purchase the package, so you could buy it halfway through your cruise if you decide you need it.
If you do decide to purchase a beverage package a few days into the voyage, you can’t purchase it for the entire voyage and get previous drink charges removed.
Any charges incurred before you purchase your package will remain on your account.
Once a drinks package has been purchased, it is not refundable and cannot be downgraded to a lower-tier package.
No Service Charges on Drinks
Mainstream cruise lines typically add an automatic service charge of 15% to 20% to every drink purchase – or on drinks packages, if you decide to buy one.
This fee is in addition to the daily cabin gratuities. Holland America, for example, add 18%, while Norwegian and Celebrity apply a 20% charge to any drinks you purchase.
This can soon add up! Find out more about that here:
How Much Do Drinks Cost on Cruise Ships? Menus and Comparisons
Azamara don’t charge extra service charges on drinks you purchase. They don’t charge daily gratuities either; everything is included in the cruise fare.
If you buy a drink not included in your drinks package, you will be charged only for the drink. No added service charges.
That makes a very refreshing change!
Before You Go
Azamara include a lot in their cruise fares; most other mainstream cruiselines add lots of extra charges. Find out more about that here:
