2024 in Review – Every Cruise I Took (Price Paid & More)

2024 certainly was a year of cruising variety for me. I took ocean cruises, river cruises, a trip on a Norwegian ferry and even stayed on a floating hospital!

Ever wondered how much I paid for each one or how long I was onboard for? In this post, I share all!

Please be aware all prices below are the prices that I paid for my cruise based on two people sharing the cabin. The person who I was sharing the cabin with also paid that price.

2024 In Summary:

  • Total Cruises: 11
  • Nights Cruising: 72
  • Press Trips: 3
  • Self Funded: 8
  • Total Spent: £6742 (excluding all other travel expenses, flights hotels etc)

February: Havila Polaris

  • Itinerary: 4 Nights – Tromso > Bergen
  • Cabin: Oceanview
  • Cost: £791 per person (Cruise Only)

I started the year by taking a little trip on a Norwegian ferry into the Arctic Circle. We visited 21 ports in 4 days and it was unlike any trip I’ve ever taken before.

There were a mix of locals and tourists onboard and the ship I was on, Havila Polaris, is actually able to run on battery for multiple hours. She’s VERY impressive.

March: Celebrity Infinity & Marella Explorer 2

  1. Celebrity Infinity
    • Itinerary: 11 Nights – Athens
    • Cabin: Balcony
    • Cost: £1228 per person (Flights, Transfers & Cruise)

After all that snow in February, I was desperate to get away somewhere warm. I booked a trip on one of Celebrity’s oldest ships, Celebrity Infinity, and we had such a good time.

The price I paid included my flights, transfers and cruise so apart from a few drinks here and there and the WiFi I didn’t have to pay anything else.

  1. Marella Explorer 2
    • Itinerary: 4 Nights – Palma
    • Cabin: Family Balcony
    • Cost: £926 per person (Flights, Transfers, Drinks & Cruise)

This little getaway was a great one because it was in the school holidays, but onboard an adults-only ship! I took a friend with me who works in a school.

We enjoyed the included drinks and although we had a less-than-ideal cabin, we had a great time.

April: Norwegian Encore (Press Trip)

  • Itinerary: 7 Nights – Seattle
  • Cabin: Balcony
  • Retail Value: £1300 per person (Cruise Only)

It was a dream come true when Norwegian invited me to join them in Alaska. My first ever cruise was with Norwegian in Alaska when I was 11 so this one really felt like I’d come full circle.

We loved the Norwegian Encore and my only wish was that we had more time in the ports. We decided to just do a 7-night round trip from Seattle but could have stayed much longer. We enjoyed the excursions and lots and lots and lots of food onboard.

May: P&O Aurora

  • Itinerary: 3 Nights – Southampton
  • Cabin: Inside
  • Cost: £349 per person (Cruise Only)

I took a little 3 night cruise onboard Aurora mostly to spend some time with my friends. We just wanted a relaxing break and we definitely got that. Our cruise went to Bruges and back and because of the bad weather (and the fact I’ve been to Bruges lots of times) we decided to stay on the ship!

Aurora is an interesting ship for P&O and I’m glad I got to try her. I liked her a lot more than I thought I would.

June: Anthem of the Seas

  • Itinerary: 7 Nights – Southampton
  • Cabin: Inside
  • Cost: £752 per person (Cruise Only)

A few years ago I took this exact cruise onboard Anthem of the Seas to Norway. When it came to picking a cruise for my family (including my nieces) the ship and destination was an obvious choice for me.

We went as a group of 8 and we never had any complaints, we had so much fun. I got to do things like bumper cars and laser tag!

July: SS La Venezia

  • Itinerary: 7 Nights – Venice
  • Cabin: Oceanview
  • Cost: £2000 per person (Flights, Transfers & Cruise)

This cruise certainly was a hot one. I don’t think I’d recommend a cruise in July to Venice to many people, but when I saw the price of 2k per person, which is around half what Uniworld usually charge, I thought this would be my chance to give it a go.

It was lovely to try something more luxurious, although the budget lines do suit me better. I can always pretend to be fancy for a week though, it’s great fun and the food was amazing. The only thing I missed… a Pool!

September: MSC Euribia (Press Trip)

  • Itinerary: 7 Nights – Southampton
  • Cabin: Yacht Club Balcony
  • Retail Value: £2700 (Cruise Only)

I’ve cruised with MSC 7 times and always longingly looked through those Yacht Club doors. (The Yacht Club is the luxury ship within a ship area). When MSC asked me if I’d like to try it, I didn’t have to think for very long!

We had a great time visiting Norway and I’ll certainly miss it when I cruise with MSC again.

October: Queen Anne

  • Itinerary: 4 Nights – Southampton
  • Cabin: Inside
  • Cost: £589 per person (Cruise Only)

When Cunard announced that they were launching a new ship I knew that I had to book a trip onboard. After a rocky launch (in terms of reviews) I decided to book a short break on her. I figured that would be enough time to see what Queen Anne was all about.

I don’t think Cunard are a cruise line that suits me really, but we had a brilliant few days onboard and the ship was beautiful. She’s a big change for Cunard but I like it.

November: Norwegian Spirit (Press Trip)

  • Itinerary: 12 Nights – Tokyo > Seoul
  • Cabin: Penthouse Suite
  • Retail Value: £5500

The highlight of my year without a shadow of a doubt cruise wise was the trip I took onboard the Norwegian Spirit in Japan. The Norwegian Spirit was the first cruise ship I ever cruised on and Japan is my favourite travel destination. Mixing these together was a dream come true.

Not only that but my cabin… IT HAD A BATH. Yep, a bath. Phenomenal. I even did a livestream from the bath, which was quite fun… (In my clothes of course, don’t get any funny ideas).

December: Global Mercy (Fundraising Trip)

  • Itinerary: 6 Nights – Sierra Leone
  • Cabin: Guest Cabin

I ended my year with something very different, a trip to Sierra Leone to stay on a floating hospital!

Over the last few years we’ve been fundraising for the charity Mercy Ships on my channel. We’ve raised over £100,000+ to date and I was able to go and see how the money is being used.

To say it was a life-changing trip would be the understatement of the century. I learnt so much about life on the West Coast of Africa and was able to spend time with the volunteers and patients. It’s something I will never ever forget.
