Havila Cabin Guide – Inside, Seaview, Panoramic View, Suites and Accessible Cabins

If you are considering booking a trip on any of Havila’s four modern ships you might be wondering which cabin option would suit you best.

Havila has four ships – Havila Capella, Castor, Pollux and Polaris. These ships are identical, so this review is relevant no matter which ship you are sailing on.

All the Havila ships were built between 2021 and 2023. They sail along the Norwegian coast from Bergen to Kirkenes and back.

8 Things You Need to Know about Havila (Norwegian Coastal Cruising)

Interior Cabins

These are the smallest and most affordable cabins onboard. They sleep two people.

They are around ten square metres in size and have one lower and one upper berth.

All have their own private bathroom with a shower.

Cabins have

• Free wifi
• Wardrobe

Seaview cabins

Seaview rooms are more spacious, around 15 – 20 metres squared.

Cabins with sofa beds are designed to sleep up to four people.

All cabins have:

• A comfortable double bed that can be made into two twins
• A sofa or sofa bed
• A desk with a chair
• Mini Fridge
• Hairdryer
• A TV
• Tea and Coffee making facilities
• Plug sockets and USB ports in every room
• Large window with sea views

Accessible Cabins – Interior and Exterior Rooms

Accessible cabins are over 15 square meters and have separate beds.

Our cabins in this category are larger with accessible bathrooms. Keep in mind that these cabins are mainly reserved for guests who need extra space due to their use of mobility aids.

Havila

Accessible cabins sleep between two and four people.

Accessible cabins:

• Range between 16–18 m²
• 2 lower and 2 upper berths
• TV
• Hairdryer 
• Tea and coffee-making facilities
• Free wifi

Panoramic Superior And Panoramic Deluxe Cabins

These cabins are located on deck 7 at the bow of the ship and have floor-to-ceiling windows. You are looking out in the direction that the ship is sailing, and you will feel like the skipper at the helm.

Bear in mind that although you might feel like “The Skipper at the helm” you will feel more movement right at the front of the ship.

That is fine if you don’t suffer from seasickness, but as someone who does, I would think twice before booking these cabins!

All deluxe cabins sleep two passengers and are around 30 square metres in size.

Junior Suite With Balcony

Booking a suite entitles you to extra perks, including a welcome package and access to breakfast at the Hildring Fine Dining restaurant

Rooms sleep up to four guests and are between 22–25 square metres in size. They have their own private balcony of around 6–9 m².

Junior Suites have:

• A Queen-sized double bed
• Swivel TV
• Recliner
• Sofa bed with table
• Desk with chair
• 2 wardrobes 
• Minibar  
• Hairdryer
• Coffee machine
• Bathrobe and slippers
• Welcome package
• Access to breakfast at the Hildring Fine Dining restaurant
• Free wifi

In the suite, the room is divided by a wall with a swivel TV so you can watch TV from both the living room and the bed – if you don’t want to watch the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Lighthouse Suite

There are only two Lighthouse Suites on each ship.

These are the best suites on the ship. They have superior-quality bed linen, wider and better beds and superior-quality furniture.

In the living room you have both a seating area and dining room furniture, as well as a large sofa in front of the TV. The bathroom has a shower and a bath. Your private balcony has a jacuzzi. You can lay back here and enjoy starry skies, the Northern Lights or the midnight sun.

Havila

Guests receive a welcome pack when they board. They can choose between eating breakfast in the main restaurant or in the Hildring Fine Dining restaurant.

Bathrobes and slippers are provided.

There is a free minibar that is refilled every day.
