Celebrating With a Giveaway! – Emma Cruises Weekly Newsletter

This week, we celebrated 200 live streams on the Emma Cruises YouTube channel. Can you believe that?! 200! 🥳😎

I started to regularly do live streams back in March of 2020 when everybody in my office was sent to work from home for what we thought would be two weeks… Without a commute, I decided to use that time to go live every week. 📸📹

I certainly never planned to do 200, but I had so much fun that I’ve never stopped!

It’s become a regular part of my schedule and I always look forward to chatting with everybody, thank you so much if you’ve ever come along! If you fancy a laugh, check out my first livestream from 2018 here, I look so scared (I was) 😂🤣

When my parents first thought about taking a family cruise way back in 2005, my Mum’s major concern was about the safety of bringing her children onboard a cruise ship.

I was the perfect child, (so my mum says), and at the age of eleven, I could be counted on to behave and not do anything silly or dangerous.

Taking my nine-year-old brother was a totally different proposition however – he was rather accident-prone and had a habit of making “spur of the minute” decisions – without thinking of the consequences!

Cruises are great! They suit so many people, and I am not surprised that millions choose to cruise every year.

Even if you are a regular cruiser, there might be certain costs that could catch you out.

In this article, we look at things that you need to look out for that could cost extra.

🥳👏🏼 GIVEAWAY 🥳👏🏼

This week I’m giving away a bunch of goodies that I bought onboard Norwegian Encore and a personalised framed cruise map from the fabulous folks at The Cruise Maps.

The map will be personalised to a cruise you’ve taken or will take… it won’t be of my cruise, as seen above! 😂😇

The above link will redirect to The Cruise Maps website, I can see which email addresses click on this link and then use a random generator to pick a winner. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

The Norwegian Encore T-shirt is sized XL, theres also a hat, a lanyard, a bottle, a fridge magnet, a keyring and an Alaska bag included in the giveaway. Code EMMACRUISES will get you a discount on all maps (affiliate discount).

MONEY-SAVING CRUISE TIP OF THE WEEK:

Book a suite. Okay, I know this sounds crazy, but hear me out. Sometimes if you are cruising with a group (say 6 of you for example), it can be cheaper to buy a big suite that you can all share than 3 standard cabins! It’s always worth checking.

This is especially true if the suites include perks like drinks packages.

River cruises are expensive, it is a fact of life. When TUI moved into the river cruise market in 2021 it opened up river cruising to a new group of travellers who may not have previously afforded them.

I have cruised with TUI on the river twice and this post is based on my experiences with them.

How Much Does It Cost To Go On A Budget River Cruise? (TUI Example)

I’ve just returned from a cruise and I stayed in an inside cabin with a feature I’ve never seen on any cruise ship before.

I didn’t know my cabin would have this when I booked it and I spent most of the week trying to work out if I was convinced by the trick.

LIVESTREAM SCHEDULE:

  • Next Live: Friday 2nd August 5pm UK (12pm Eastern)

This weeks Patreon podcast is live now here! Thanks for your fabulous questions as always!

I sailed on Arvia, P&O’s newest, largest family-orientated ship and then tried a short cruise on Aurora, the smallest, most traditional ship in the same fleet.

I was a little worried that I would find Aurora a disappointment after sailing on Arvia. Aurora was built in 2000, so it is relatively old by cruise ship standards.

I’m heading off on a river cruise very soon and can’t wait to share it with you. It’s probably the most expensive cruise I’ve ever booked, and that was me booking it in a half-price sale! 😂😁

It’s time to see what luxury river cruising is all about, and I’m so so excited! I’ll share more closer to the time when I can. 😎😇
