Hey! I’m Emma.
I’m a Cruise Blogger and
YouTuber from the UK.
I’m 27 and I’ve been cruising since I was 11 years old. As a child I loved cruising, I loved the freedom that it gave me and exploring new ships was so much fun. I still don’t think there’s anything quite like stepping onboard a ship for the first time.
As Seen On:
How it All Started
When I decided to take my first cruise by myself, I was surprised to find that none of my friends would even consider it. They had outdated ideas about cruise ships being formal and boring, which I knew was not the case.
I started this website in 2016 and a YouTube channel a year later. The aim of both is to dispel common cruising misconceptions and to show potential cruisers that there is a cruise line to suit everybody.
I’ve been lucky enough to cruise all over the world and I have travelled on cruise ships ranging from 100 passengers all the way up to around 5500. My favourite trip to date was a cruise which I took from Singapore to Tokyo with Princess Cruises. Every port we visited was fascinating and visiting by ship meant we were able to visit multiple countries in a relatively short period of time.
I’m a strong believer in the idea that there is a cruise line, ship, and destination, to suit everybody, regardless of age or budget.
The Cruise That Started it All
I took my first cruise when I was 11. It was onboard the Norwegian Spirit and we visited Alaska. I had so much fun in the kids clubs with my brother and cousins. I also loved being able to decide what and where I wanted to eat. My parents might decide to have dinner in the main dining room and I could have pizza from the buffet, it was great!

When Things Changed – A Pandemic Life Change!
In March 2021 I made the decision to leave my job in Data Development to throw myself full time into the cruise world. I’ve never looked back.
I’d worked in that job for 6 years and it definitely was a scary decision but being my own boss means I don’t have to ask anybody else to approve my leave, it’s fabulous!

It’s Not ALL About Cruising
- My Cat Hudson – He’s a big ginger boy and he often appears in my YouTube videos. You may recognise him from my logo!
- Cookies – If there are cookies to be found on a cruise, you can guarantee I’ll be there.
- Yorkshire Puddings – This one doesn’t need an explanation. If you haven’t tried a Yorkshire pudding, you must.
- Tea – My favourite is peppermint but I’m also a fan of ‘toast and jam’ tea, yep that’s a real thing!
- Pepsi Max – I have to admit, I am totally addicted to Pepsi Max. Coke Zero or Diet Coke will do too, I love all diet cola drinks.
I am very lucky to live in Sussex, UK. This means I’m close to Southampton for those weekend cruises and London for cruise events! The best of both worlds.

Awards and Achievements
A few of things I’m proud of
I Braved The Shave For Macmillan – We Raised Over £5000!
In 2019 the Marella Discovery shave my head on the main stage of the theatre. We raised £5000+ for a cancer support charity and I was able to donate my hair to be made into wigs for children that need it.
I was posting YouTube videos and sharing photos across social media during the process of my hair growing back so if you notice I sometimes look like a fluffy little kiwi fruit, now you know why.
The story was also mentioned on World of Cruising and Travel Weekly’s websites. I am so grateful for the media attention because we managed to raise £3500 online before the day! That is CRAZY cool.
I Won The Ultimate Content Warrior Challenge
Thousands of bloggers and YouTubers from around the world competed in the challenge. How incredible is this belt?! It’s now hanging on the wall in my house. Definitely a conversation starter.
In 2021 I won the Ultimate Content Warrior challenge by IncomeSchool.
IncomeSchool are a blogging community and contest took place over multiple month, it was a LOT of work but I knew I had to give it a go.
(You can learn more about IncomeSchool here).
We Did a 12 Hour YouTube Live – Raising Over $27,000!
The cruise industry came together in 2020. We held a 12 hour YouTube live stream to fundraise for my friend Sean who was diagnosed stage 4 with Pancreatic cancer.
Sean passed away in early 2021, a year after this live stream happened. The stream meant so much to Sean (and me). If you watched and/or donated, we are forever grateful!
I was voted ‘favourite cruise blogger’ at the Wave Awards in 2018. It was such an honour to be up against cruise bloggers who I had looked up to for years. Click here to read more about it.
In The Media
I’ve been interviewed for national TV as a ‘cruise expert’ (more information coming soon), consulted live on BBC radio and have been featured in a number of large newspapers and on travel websites.
I’m usually asked to speak about the rise in young people cruising and to talk about how the cruise industry is changing and adapting to the demands of consumers. I usually focus on the budget end of the cruise market and aim to encourage others to try their first cruise.
The Guardian – Why Cruises Float The Boat of The Instagram Generation
World of Cruising – Emma Le Teace’s Guide to Cruising For Millenials
New York Times – The newest tech on cruise ships
I’ve been interviewed multiple times on BBC radio. Sadly it’s usually only where something bad has happened and the industry needs defending! Fear not though, I’m always willing to stick up for the cruise lines.
Here is an extract of the show where I was interviewed about mystery cruises. It was SO much fun being on the radio, if a little scary. Being told ‘okay Emma, you’re on air NOW, is terrifying’.
Emma Cruises Online
I use Instagram to document my cruises and day to day life as things happen. I’m by far the most active on this platform so if you would like to get to know me, please do give me a follow here: Instagram, Emma Cruises.
On my channel, I share ship reviews, cabin tours, cruise vlogs, and cruise booking tips and tricks. If you’re considering taking your first cruise, or are interested in learning more about a certain cruise line or ship, you’re in the right place. I upload a new video every single week and regularly do live streams too. Please do subscribe!
I started a Facebook group when I realised that I had built up a community across my social accounts and website. By bringing everybody together into a Facebook group I was able to provide a space for cruisers, or future cruisers, to ask questions without fear of judgement or looking ‘silly’.
I still learn things on a daily basis from the group. If you’ve got a question about a cruise line or cruise destination you can guarantee that somebody has an experience they’ll be able to share.
If you have any cruise questions or stories/photos you’d like to share, please join us!
